"At least it wasn't a blob this time"

Films: The Deadly Spawn (1983)

Alias: None

Type: Alien

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: Twice that of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: As it turns out, we as a species aren't the only ones capable of making some ungodly mutants. Out there in space, an experiment has been sent our way to fill the night with blood and terror.

History: An alien bio-weapon, this self-fertilizing beast came to Earth from a meteor and into rural USA. From there, it pretty much devoured anything that it could get its gob around, mainly the occupants of a small house, and spawned several smaller young to do the same.

Notable Kills: Bites off a person's head before throwing the rest out the window. What a waste.

Final Fate: Eventually, the main Spawner is tricked into eating a dummy loaded with explosive powder, which is ignited so that the beast gets blown up. Its young are soon hunted down and killed as well. But at least one grew up to be about the size of a mountain...

Powers/Abilities: Explosive self-breeding.

Weakness: It cannot see, and has to rely on sound. Also, anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4-It's not the hardest to take down, but damn, is it ugly! Imagine a mass of fleshy-pink super-predator with perhaps the record for the most teeth on an alien, and you have the right idea.

Trivia: -This film was inspired by an article from 1979 in "National Geographic" that described seed pods from the Arctic.

-Originally, the monster was a man in a suit, but they eventually settled for a puppet controlled by wires.

Here's one thing that we know of. Sticks are an utterly poor choice of weaponary.

That's no moon...

Ghidorah's lesser known prototype.

Got to give you props. You dragged yourself just enough from this intersteller demon.

Enjoy your nightmares.
All that was left...

Or, really, a small house against a failed weapon.

This is both suggestive and terrifying.

That's going to smell really bad the next day.
